Welcome to Bida Digital’s newsletter #10! Each week I will share one insight for each one of Bida’s four pillars: Website Development, Marketing, Communications & Event Management.

Website Development: Draft an Idea Before Starting to Build Your Website

Clarity in planning saves time and frustration later.

Before jumping into actually building your website, take the time to sketch out a simple idea of what you might want it to look like. You can do this simply with pen and paper or you can use a tool like Figma or even Canva. Think about where you might want key sections, pictures, and other elements before touching a website builder. I do this for all the websites I build.

Marketing: Growth Comes from Creating Useful Content

Valuable content builds trust, engagement, and long-term visibility.

Last week I shared that you should add a personal touch to your marketing. But marketing isn’t just about self-promotion, the other side of the coin is creating value. The most successful growth comes from consistently sharing insights, resources, and real-world examples that help your audience. For music therapists, this could mean short videos explaining different techniques or blog posts on music therapy research. When people find your content useful, they are more likely to engage with you, want to stay connected and refer others.

Communications: Use Clear, Simple Language to Explain Music Therapy

Avoid jargon so that more people can understand your work.

Music therapy is still misunderstood by many, so clarity is key when explaining it. Instead of technical terms, use everyday language and relatable examples. For instance, rather than saying, “We use neurologic music therapy interventions to enhance cognitive function,” you could say, “We use music to help people improve memory, movement, and speech.” Simple explanations make it easier for potential clients, families, and professionals to see music therapy’s value. What’s your favorite way of explaining music therapy?

Event Planning: Create an FAQ Section for Your Event

Answering common questions upfront makes your event smoother and more accessible.

Anticipating and addressing common concerns ahead of time improves the event experience for everyone. A well-crafted FAQ section can clarify details like who the event is for, whether it will be recorded, or what participants should bring. For example, a music therapy conference might include FAQs on session formats, certification credits, and accessibility options. When attendees feel informed, they’re more likely to register and engage confidently.

That’s it for this newsletter! If you need assistance with implementing any of these tips, feel free to also reach out.

Warmly,
