Welcome to Bida Digital’s newsletter #8! Each week I will share one insight for each one of Bida’s four pillars: Website Development, Marketing, Communications & Event Management.

Website Development: My Preferred Website Tools

Build a powerful music therapy website with WordPress, Astra Theme, and Beaver Builder.

A website should be easy to update, flexible, and visually appealing. My preferred setup—WordPress as the platform, Astra as the lightweight theme, and Beaver Builder as the page builder—ensures that music therapists can create professional, customizable websites without advanced coding knowledge.

Marketing: Consistent Content Makes a Difference

Regular posting builds trust, visibility, and leads.

Since starting a weekly Bida newsletter and consistently posting 2-3 music videos per week on my personal account, I’ve already seen an increase in inquiries. Consistency signals reliability and keeps your audience engaged. Music therapists who regularly share their work—whether blog posts, testimonials, or short music clips—will see growing recognition over time.

Communications: Leading from Any Position

Music therapists can influence change, even without formal leadership roles.

Many music therapists work in institutions where they are low in the hierarchy, yet strategic communication can elevate their impact. In my recent event with Dr. Suzanne Hanser, we discussed how leadership isn’t just about titles—it’s about balancing advocacy, teamwork, and expertise. By articulating music therapy’s value clearly, aligning with institutional goals, and demonstrating results, music therapists can drive change from any position.

Event Planning: Build Momentum Before the Event Even Starts

Excitement and engagement should begin long before day one.

A great event doesn’t start when people log in or walk through the door—it starts weeks earlier. Tease key topics, introduce speakers, and invite early participation through social media, email, or short video clips. For example, if hosting a panel on music therapy and dementia, post a thought-provoking question or a quick preview from a speaker to spark discussion. When attendees arrive already engaged, the event itself becomes more dynamic and impactful.

That’s it for this newsletter! If you need assistance with implementing any of these tips, feel free to also reach out.

Warmly,
