Welcome to Bida Digital’s newsletter #5! Each week I will share one insight for each one of Bida’s four pillars: Website Development, Marketing, Communications & Event Management.

Website Development: Highlight Your Latest Projects On Your Website

Highlight the latest that is going on for you!

A website is not something you create once and never touch again. You can use your website to highlight the latest that is going on for you. This is usually professional developments, but once in a while you can also share some personal news!

I’ll admit it, sometimes I also forget to do this. This is also a reminder for me to update my website and add the speaking engagements I have this year (EMTC in Hamburg and CLAM in Mexico in July and Prague in September, will I see you in any of these events?).

Marketing: Start with a simple G.O.S.T Plan

Goals, Objectives, Strategies, and Tactics

It is easy to get lost among all the different marketing strategies and channels. My suggestion if you don’t have much time or resources for marketing? Do a simple G.O.S.T. Plan. This stands for Goals, Objectives, Strategies and Tactics.

So for example, you might have the following plan:

  • Goal: getting new clients
  • Objective: getting 10 new clients who come to you every week
  • Strategy: sharing about your services with your community
  • Tactic: talking to 30 people in your community about what you offer

Communications: Don’t Be Afraid to Talk About What You Think you Deserve

Speak up even if you are a bit afraid to do so

I recently had an experience of a colleague who was unfortunately underpaid for his job. Rather than shaking the waters he waited until he had “showed what he can do.” In the end, he was in a lower pay-band because management was missing his certificate that he had finished his studies and they thought he had lower qualifications than he actually had. When they realized this they bumped him back to where he should’ve been all along.

If you think you’re not getting what you deserve, don’t be afraid to speak up!

Event Planning: For Recurring Events, Create a Workflow

Thinking through things can help with efficiency

I have the honor of helping the International Association for Music and Medicine (IAMM) with their events. IAMM has many events throughout the year, so I actually have a pretty good idea of what I need to do to set it all up. That being said, having a written workflow allows me to be more efficient and think through what needs to be done first, second, and so on.

That’s it for this newsletter! I would love to know what kind of content you would want to hear more about, so feel free to reply to this email and let me know. And if you need assistance with implementing any of these tips, feel free to also reach out!

Warmly,

Samuel Gracida
