Welcome to this very first newsletter of Bida Digital! You can think of this as your weekly dose of expert marketing, event management tips, and digital strategies tailored for music therapists, music therapy organizations, and really anybody at the intersection of music and health.

Each week we will share one insight for each one of our four pillars: Website Development, Marketing, Communications & Event Management.

Website Development: Add a Clear Call-to-Action (CTA)

Every page on your website should guide visitors toward a next step.

A strong CTA can make a big difference in connecting with your audience. On Bida Digital’s homepage, for example, there’s a “Get in Contact” button prominently displayed both at the top of the page and in the main menu. This makes it easy for visitors to take action. Your CTA should reflect your current goals. For example, if you’re focusing on building connections, use a similar approach to encourage outreach. Alternatively, if you’re offering a service, your CTA might say, “Book a Free Consultation” or “Start Your Journey Today.” Adapt your CTAs to fit your specific objectives.

Marketing: Start Simple, Then Expand

Managing multiple social media platforms can be overwhelming, so start with one. Meta’s platforms—Facebook and Instagram—are great options because you can share content to both simultaneously. Focus on posting consistently, whether it’s weekly or bi-weekly, and experiment with different types of content like photos, videos, or testimonials. As you gain confidence and find what works, you can expand to other platforms like LinkedIn or TikTok.

Communications: Organize Content with a Calendar

Consistency is key to effective communication. I personally use Notion to plan content for blogs, newsletters, and social media posts. Having a calendar helps ensure your messaging aligns with your goals and stays on track. Here’s a content calendar template to get you started: Content Calendar Template. Start by mapping out your next month’s themes, such as highlighting a project, sharing research insights, or promoting an event.

Event Planning: Be Overprepared

When planning events, prepare for the unexpected. At the Music and Medicine Congress in Berlin this September, I brought extra gear—like an XLR cable, an additional mic, music stands, USB sticks, and more—that wasn’t even on the checklist. Many of these items came in handy when unforeseen needs arose. The lesson? Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Build a backup kit tailored to your event to ensure everything runs smoothly no matter what surprises come your way.
